Sewing Pattern Organization
How do you oraganzie your sewing patterns? Just in boxes? Do you keep a spread sheet so that you don't buy doubles when Joann's runs a sale or you find a huge stash at an estate sale?
Up until now I have kept my sewing patterns in boxes organized strickly by the maker. This is no longer working for me. I have noticed several duplicates I have purchased at Joann's sales recently. So far my best idea is to go through the boxes and Pin which ones I have on Pinterest, making a separate board for each maker. I think this is a pretty good idea since Pinterest now allows you to search only your Pins.
So tell me what you do to organize, I know I can't be the only pattern hoarder out there.

I did exactly what you did. I have all my patterns pinned by maker. I have separated some by type ie. Maternity, children, craft...It makes it so much easier. I also have a folder for patterns I want. Then when I go shopping for them I just move them to the appropriate folder after being bought. The only problem I have had so far is that some of the pins don't show everything that is in that pattern. So I have debated repining the line drawings, but haven't done it yet.
ReplyDeleteGood to know! I think I am going to start pinning mine tonight. ;)
