Singer 503 Sewing Machine

Too excited to read the blog post? Go Straight to the Shop!

I picked up a gorgeous Singer 503A in the case this morning at an Estate Sale. I had to do a little cleaning, but overall the machine was in excellent condition.

The machine, unfortunately doesn't have any attachments and only one cam, but those are much more easily found than the carry case!

I have to say, I am quite fond of the 400 & 500 series machines. They are very smooth (thanks to being gear driven, like the 201-2) and the stitches are just gorgeous. Not to mention they have that certain mid-century flair!

This machine also has typical perfect vintage Singer stitches. I am always enamored with them while I am sewing with them. I always say they are smooth like Butter! <3

Happy Sewing!

  1. I have this exact machine it's a beauty. It's used as a dedicated machine for buttonholes, I have it permanently set up with a Singer buttonhole attachment.

  2. That's awesome! I thought of doing that myself, but I really don't need to keep another machine! Right now, I have a 201-2 that is my everyday machine and a 600E that I use for all my zigzag/decorative/buttonholing needs. Plus my daughters pink Atlas is in my sewing room right now as well... all in tables.
