Oh BERNINA (electronic 811)!

I recently found my very first BERNINA at a local estate sale!!!

She's a BERNINA Electronic 811 from the late 70s, early 80s. And OH MY does she sew like a dream.

She came in a super-fabulous mid century modern Singer cabinet. Look at all that storage space! Divine!

She came with attachments and a manual also! I really love this machine. I immediately started thinking of names for her.

I know I must sell her though :( I have very limited room right now, not to mention, hopefully a big move coming up. (Less is more in a move, you know!)  I even considered selling my Singer 201 Marilyn, but I too emotionally involved with her. Not to mention at the moment I also have my Grandmother's Singer 600E and my Huskylock 910.

I have this fabulous girl listed on Etsy

However, until someone else purchases her I'll be making everything on this machine! <3 <3 <3

Vintage Singer 15-125

Available on Etsy!
I just love vintage Mid Century Sewing Machines! Especially Singer's. I came across this machine last week and I am in love!

The Mint Green and angular design really drawn me to this machine. And  as if all that were not good enough. Hello, it's basically a 15-91 with a makeover!

There is a potted motor back there! It's so smooooooth.

There is a little wear on the front of the bed, but overall  this machine is nice and clean.

It even came in a great French Provencal Table! (similar to the Queen Anne Table)

Singer 421G Sewing Machine

First of all, let me say how excited I am about finding this machine! This is one of the rare German Singer machines that has eluded me for years!

It not only has a fantastic bed extension and storage space in the bed.... It also has a free arm!

It also came in a sweet Danish Modern (German Modern?) sewing cabinet, like I have never seen before!

It even came with most of the attachments and the manual!

Singer 503 Sewing Machine

Too excited to read the blog post? Go Straight to the Shop!

I picked up a gorgeous Singer 503A in the case this morning at an Estate Sale. I had to do a little cleaning, but overall the machine was in excellent condition.

The machine, unfortunately doesn't have any attachments and only one cam, but those are much more easily found than the carry case!

I have to say, I am quite fond of the 400 & 500 series machines. They are very smooth (thanks to being gear driven, like the 201-2) and the stitches are just gorgeous. Not to mention they have that certain mid-century flair!

This machine also has typical perfect vintage Singer stitches. I am always enamored with them while I am sewing with them. I always say they are smooth like Butter! <3

Happy Sewing!

Vintage Pink Atlas Sewing Machine

Today while I was watching some Crime TV and knitting my mom called me and told me that there were 3 sewing machines at a yard sale a block from my house. How did I not know this already? It was already 2pm, so I figured they were all junk.

I was quite shocked to find this Atlas in EXCELLENT condition. For some reason most of the pink Atlas machines are all beat up or something is wrong with them, but this one is PERFECT!

It sews like a dream! AND the case is even in great shape, and has the original attachment box!

This is an awesome find!

Singer 201-2, Queen Anne Sewing Table and Stool

Price: $525, free local pickup, will ship

This is a stunning and rare Singer 201-2 sewing machine. This machine is very smooth and strong. It has a gear driven motor so there are no slips when sewing through thick fabric.

This 201-2 is a rare blackside which means it was produced during the war years when the needle plate, side plate etc. were not chromed, but dipped in black finish instead.

The serial number on this machine is AF892303 which dates the machine to 1941.

I purchased this machine in 2006 from an elderly lady who purchased the machine new and maintained it well. This machine has been used by me since then and has been well maintained.

Included with the head of this machine is, the original Queen Anne Table and sewing stool. All standard attachments come with this machine in their original green Singer box.

I recovered the stool, but the original fabric is underneath. The new fabric can be removed with a staple puller.

FREE LOCAL PICKUP AVAILABLE!

If shipped, this will come in 3 boxes: Machine and attachments , table, and stool. The table and stool will be DISASSEMBLED, it is not difficult to put these back together (basically the legs are unscrewed).

Just need a Singer Queen Anne Stool? I have one here for $110.

Heirloom Sewing

Ok, I am super excited. I really can't believe it. I called to ask my Grandmother a question about her Singer Touch & Sew (if it had the white cams), and she offered her machine to me! She has a new machine that is easier for her to get out to use.

I am really in shock about getting this machine. It was purchased new in the early 1960s as a gift to my Great Grandma "Mitt" from her husband, and she gave it to my Grandmother probably sometime in the late 80's or early 90's. I thought she loved the machine so much she would never part with it, and then I was sure my aunts wouldn't let me take it...

There is one catch, she said she HAD to keep the sewing cabinet to keep her sewing stuff in. It's one like this. Lots of nice storage space. Maybe one day she will impart that to me as well.

I have cleaned it, and oiled it and it sews soooo great. Since I brought it home I've found out that it's basically a Singer 401 with a body change and different bobbin winder. No plastic gears! And by the way, that Bobbin Winder is awesome!

This machine does so much more than what I'm accustomed to. My Singer 201-2 is AWESOME, but it is so nice to be able to chainstitch, change stitches and more all on one machine.

Yep, I'll be playing with this baby all weekend... while I finish the Drew Wedding clothing.
