I've been sewing a LOT lately and I decided that my sewing room needed a little sprucing up. I ended up making a Sewing Machine cover (pattern to follow and will be available in my etsy shop) and recovering my vintage sewing stool.
I really love it! I think it turned out really cute, and then my little daughter liked it so much I had to recover her sewing stool as well.
It was so easy I decided I had to write up a little tutorial on it.
Supplies:
vintage sewing stool
fat quarter of your favorite quilters cotton (or a piece of fabric 18" x 22")
heavy duty staple gun with staples
Directions:
Press fabric and lay right side down on your worksurface and place stool top upside down on the fabric. Make sure that the fabric is evenly distributed underneath the stool top.
Before
Once the fabric is even turn the fabric up to staple on on edge. Smooth it out underneath and pull taught to staple the opposite side.
Smooth fabric again and fold fabric on the next end and staple, repeat for remaining side.
For corners fold in neatly and staple down like so:
